  • HOUSE 1616 is a three-level home in Barcelona built with a grid of cross-shaped brick pillars instead of walls. This structural system defines the layout while letting air flow and natural light in.

  • The project is made from local stone, brick, and earth to create a community space in rural India. Open arched walls define each area, connecting and separating classrooms, workshops, and gathering spaces.

  • The design is shaped by a series of dualities: stone and steel, old and new, front and back. The two houses are linked by the courtyard, the project’s defining feature, which connects them while also creating a clear sense of separation.
